Cosmetic Tooth Bonding

Dental tooth bonding is a quick and painless way to repair cracks and chips in teeth. Tooth bonding is also an excellent way to re-shape teeth that are too small or out of alignment. The composite tooth bonding material can also be used to fill cavities in place of silver amalgam fillings. Dental bonding uses a composite material that is colour matched to your natural teeth to fix imperfections and fill gaps.  Cosmetic tooth bonding process usually takes on visit without any injections.Cosmetic tooth bonding provides our patients with an instant smile makeover.

Dental Bonding or resin filling can be placed in the back teeth as well as the front teeth. It can lighten any stains you may have, close up minor gaps, and conceal overlapping and uneven teeth by creating custom-made, hand-crafted, tooth-coloured composite that contour seamlessly to the front surfaces of your teeth.

Unlike veneers, the composite is applied directly to the tooth and cured to its final hardness using a laser. In order to help the composite bond to the tooth, the tooth is prepared by lightly buffing the area to be repaired, which usually doesn’t require anaesthetic. Cosmetic bonding can be used on a single tooth or transform an entire smile.

With careful artistry, composite can be used to realistically mimic the colour details and translucency of your tooth, and polished to a beautiful shine. As this is a very technique sensitive procedure only few dentists with a strong artistic inclination and extensive post-graduate training in cosmetic dentistry are capable of delivering a very high aesthetics.

Advantages of Cosmetic Bonding:

  • Permits your dentist to remove only the decayed area of your tooth.
  • Composite bonding expands just like your teeth and is much less likely to cause cracks in your tooth.
  • Composites bond directly to the tooth providing better support

Your cosmetic bonding procedure should last 5- 7 years depending on your lifestyle. Smoking, drinking or using your teeth as tools, may reduce the life expectancy of the bonding and you may need to get your teeth polished once a year as the bonding material stains more readily than natural teeth. Under normal mouth conditions, tooth bonding work that is done by a qualified cosmetic dentist will not darken or discolour  If it is not damaged by improper cleaning or by overly abrasive toothpastes, it ordinarily will not stain any more than your natural teeth. In most cases, it is also durable enough to withstand the stresses of ordinary mouth function.
